Straight answers
The questions every importer asks before picking up the phone.
How fast can IBS clear a shipment at Laredo?
When documents arrive before the truck, we transmit the entry in advance and compliant freight is typically released the same day it reaches Port 2304. Speed is a process, not a promise: classification, review and filing happen before the bridge, not at it.
Can you clear cargo at ports other than Laredo?
Yes. Through Remote Location Filing we transact customs business at any port in the United States, with the same broker and the same accountability, from Los Angeles to New York.
What do I need to start importing with IBS?
A signed power of attorney, your commercial invoice and packing list. We guide you through the customs bond and any permit your product needs, and we set up your record file from entry one.
What is the ISF and when must it be filed?
The Importer Security Filing applies to ocean cargo and is due at least 24 hours before your goods are loaded at the foreign port. Filed late or wrong it costs up to $5,000. We file it as a standing process tied to your bookings.
Do you handle the Mexican side of the border too?
Through our commercial partners we coordinate Mexican customs brokerage, door-to-door transport and freight forwarding, so one conversation covers both sides of the crossing.
What does a customs broker actually cost?
Market-competitive rates quoted up front, per operation. The real number to watch is what a broker saves you: correct classification, zero penalties and cargo that does not sit.
